The Late,Late Show On CBS Gets A New Host






“The Late Late Show with James Corden” Premieres Monday, March 23, 2015

CBS announced today the accomplished late night team that will join James Corden and executive producer Ben Winston at THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN. Rob Crabbe (“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”) will serve as executive producer and writer, Emmy Award winner Mike Gibbons (“Tosh.0”) has been named co-executive producer and head writer, Sheila Rogers (LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN) will be supervising producer and Josie Cliff (“One Night with Robbie Williams”) will serve as producer. In addition, innovative musician and comedian Reggie Watts will serve as the bandleader.
Rob Crabbe served as a supervising producer on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination. Previously, he was supervising producer on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” also earning two Emmy nominations, the supervising producer of music programming at FUSE, and held various positions at “Last Call with Carson Daly” and the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, on the Network.
Mike Gibbons is an Emmy Award-winning writer and producer, best known as the co-creator and executive producer of “Tosh.0” on Comedy Central. Gibbons’ late night television writer/producer credits include “Lopez Tonight,” “The Showbiz Show with David Spade” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn.” In addition, he wrote for “The 86thAnnual Academy Awards,” “The 79th Annual Academy Awards” and “The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards.” He won a Daytime Emmy Award as the supervising producer of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2006. Previously, Gibbons worked on HBO's “Brody Stevens: Enjoy It,” which he created with Zach Galifianakis.
Sheila Rogers is an Emmy Award-nominated supervising producer and talent executive on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN. She also executive produces the “Live on Letterman” web concert series. Rogers began working with Letterman in 1991 as a talent coordinator for “Late Night with David Letterman.” Prior to that, she was a senior writer at Rolling Stone Magazine.
For the past 14 years, Josie Cliff has managed Robbie Williams, the multiple award-winning and bestselling British solo artist in the United Kingdom. She has also produced numerous UK specials, including the Grammy Award nominated “Robbie Williams: Live at the Albert,” “One Night with Robbie Williams,” “Robbie Williams Live at Knebworth” and “When Robbie Met James,” in which Williams was interviewed by James Corden.
Reggie Watts is an internationally renowned vocalist, beatboxer, musician, comedian and improviser known for his musical sets that are created on the spot, using only his voice and looping peddles. He stars as the house bandleader on the IFC television series “Comedy Bang! Bang!” and has appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “Conan” and “Funny or Die.” In 2010, he was featured as a “Hot Comedian” in Rolling Stone’s Hot issue, as “Best New Comedian” in SPIN Magazineand featured in GQ's Man of the Year issue, also in 2010.
The newly announced producing team will join Winston, who was announced as executive producer last month, when the show opens its production offices on Jan. 5 in preparation for the series launch on Monday, March 23, 2015 (12:37 PM-1:37 AM, ET/PT). The new late night series will tape at CBS Television City in Los Angeles. (Editor’s note: this premiere date is two weeks later than previously announced.)
James Corden, a multi-faceted performer, host, writer and producer with accomplishments that span television, theater, film and comedy, will make his late night television debut as host of THE LATE LATE SHOW. Corden comes to American television with a growing list of award-winning and critically acclaimed credits, including the highly anticipated feature film “Into the Woods” with Meryl Streep, which premieres Dec. 25, 2014.
Corden succeeds Craig Ferguson, the critically acclaimed host of the CBS late night series for the past 10 years. Ferguson will sign off on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014.
